The colder months are rolling in quickly and lots of Rabbits and Guinea pigs are left out in the open during the cold months. Extreme temperatures can be fatal for your pets so it's time to start thinking about how you can keep them warm in the winter. 1. Consider bringing your pet indoors if possible. You then don't have to worry about them being too cold or too warm as you usually regulate your home temperature for yourselves. 2. Consider moving their hutches into a shed or garage. This provided the hutch with shelter from the wind rain and snow and may be abit warmer. 3. If you can't bring your animals indoors, turn you hutch towards a fence or wall so that not as much wind rain and snow get into the hutch. 4. Provide your pet with lots of bedding to nest and burrow in, more bedding will kept them warm like extra blankets keep you warm. 5. Consider buying a pet safe microwavable heat pad for you animals to snuggle up and sleep on. This means they have somewhere toastie to sleep. 6. Provide lots of hay, your animals will naturally eat more during the colder months. Make sure your water is not frozen over also. Buy a bottle cover to stop your water freezing over.
